Back to Work

President's Day!
Dex and Mom went back to work today -- just for fun. Abba's wife accused Mom of making every day a holiday, and Mom had to agree.  Abba's wife simply doesn't understand what IT takes to write a biography.  Nor does she understand Abba's preoccupation with movies like the one we studied last week on TCM.  Ladybugs (both #1 and #2), however, did understand when they met at the Copper Kitchen.

Movies and videos (i.e. "moving pictures") have been replacing literature in the classroom for some time.  No one can deny their place of influence on education in our current society.  From movies and television our children have been learning about the world beyond what is experienced with parents and family at home.  From movies and television, as much as from interaction and conversation with parents and teachers, our children learn community values and attitudes.

Five months ago, Dex and Mom entered into a conversation with a church school class prejudiced by complexes and a decidedly Christian point of view.  The class invited it's members, including Dex and Mom, to read and discuss a book in January.  Dex and Mom read the book but were unable to attend class as Dex came down with the flu.  They have been struggling with ideas about how to converse and build new friendships with the class LONG DISTANCE.

Dr. Dale asked us, not in these exact words but close, “What's the tale behind this tail?” This is CYFFR's RSVP, "BLAZE: The Icon of Rocky Ford." Perhaps those of you who read IT will choose and be able to understand the story. We begin our research with the Coss family that is related to Grandad. They commented on the above Google reference via Facebook. Now we continue with Ruth's investigation into the word “complex.”

WE MARKED THE TIME, 9:35 AM MST, when snow flurries fell on La Junta. Within five minutes the precipitation had turned to sleet and then quickly to rain. It was falling as we drove from breakfast at the Copper Kitchen past the Wake house back to Garfield Place. We walked from the van to the house, though, without feeling a drop. Sure hope that is not all that we get from Q!

We're getting together with "retired friends" in Rocky Ford, Colorado, this afternoon to discuss Covenant Programs's continuing membership with Sam's Club as I, personally move home to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Can't believe how complex this all is!

Thanks to Grandad (who commented with me above), moving my stuff to make a new office in his home where we both care for CYFFR PETS is going smoothly. Note the seeming discrepancy in times documented here. Some of our participating family and associates read and write from the perspective of the west coast. That is California to Washington.

For those of you who are interested, I consider myself a correspondent-in-training with @DavidCayJ whom I follow on Twitter.
