I never thought to buy into the Military Industrial Complex.  The Medical Industrial Complex, however, was another story.  When I was young (the 1940s and '50s), I remember a few incidents that threatened my life.  Of course, I didn't understand things then as I do now.

It wasn't until I had finished college that I invested myself in psychology and the Medical Industrial Complex full time.  At first I had hoped at best to earn a living and raise a family.  Only after I had adopted children of my own to teach did I realize that life is a gift.  Living is not something that can be earned.

13 July 2013:  Using Facebook this morning, I celebrated the gift of life and understanding with Grandad.
