Taking A Brake!

When Mom spent a summer with Corwin Robinson, laughing together in Lemont, Illinois, he taught her to read "STOP" signs as "Squeal Tires On Pavement."  After several high school boyfriends, and not yet actually in college, Mom had fallen in love again.  She was sixteen.  Her first "love" had been Peter Lowe in second grade -- also in Lemont.

That summer, Mom became convinced that she would marry a minister.  There was no way that she could have known that he would also be a banker and a business man, the leader of his class.

Today Mom is over seventy.  She doesn't "fall" in love any more; she chooses carefully.  So when Dr. Hess "fell" for her, she studied this scientist as closely as he studied her.   They have become close friends and correspondents.  Mom has also been studying Gilmore Girls.  They help her go to sleep smiling after listening to Congress via C-SPAN2 all morning.

This afternoon, however, Mom has reverted.  She'll be watching some older stuff for a while to help her relax before sleep -- including:
  1. The Right Stuff
  2. Mrs. Doubtfire
  3. Lincoln
  4. Somewhere in Time
  5. OBAMA
