New Week

Following a plan announced last week (Saturday?) on Facebook, Mom has begun to reorganize.  She writes, and sometimes takes pictures, reporting as she goes in order that family and friends may understand.  This morning, she awoke early as usual.  She left her old pager (719.980.0779) in her private room .  THESE DAYS SINCE RETIRING HER CLINICAL PRACTICE, SHE USES IT ONLY FOR EXCHANGING TEXT MESSAGES WITH FAMILY.

Mom left her nook and went into Grandad's house.  This western ranch style house on the northeast edge of La Junta, Colorado, is where Mom works for Grandad's family using a laptop computer that she gave him for Christmas a while back to integrate disparate parts into a whole.  This Sunday, Mom was keeping her promise to help him weed his garden.

Grandad wasn't up yet, so Mom watched the sunrise from his north-facing guest bedroom.  Then she started today's blogging, continuing to use Facebook to organize material for Grandad's biography.  She cared for their cats, watered some, and checked their shared email accounts.  This is a never ending task that our readers may follow if they choose to follow this blog.  It is about a fleet of relationships that is building the New World.

From @ 8 AM to @ 10 AM, they shared communion in community at the Copper Kitchen, serendipitously meeting John.  They fostered relationships and listened to John's family stories and to his ideas about working in retirement.  John has worked for Otero County's RSVP.  He spoke at length about the relationship between power, wealth and politics.  These days, John is a person, like many persons his age and older, who prefers personal face-to-face relationships and seldom uses the Internet.  He is passionate about our country and free enterprise.

From @ 10 AM to @ 12:30 PM, they worked together in Grandad's garden before separating for lunch and resting with their separate families.
