Respecting the power that Fern's children exercise over Grandad, Mom has made a plan to move her business to Pueblo where she has proven herself able to live temporarily in Grandad's van. I AM THE OBSERVING EGO. I watch as Mom and Grandad labor their way through their old age together for the sake of the children that they have been privileged to raise.
LABOR DAY WEEKEND: I have watched as Mom rises every day before the sun to care for CYFFR'S PETS "for reals" (as Mr. A) used to say. I have seen her sit down to read notes (reminders) then begin to write. It seems that writing a song IS HER LIFE! This month she has begun a new verse with one of her favorite books.
Mom has proposed to buy half interest in Grandad's old Ford Windstar van.
It is all she needs to assure herself of safe, independent
transportation in the future IF Grandad were to die before she does. Mom hopes he will accept her proposal before Thanksgiving Day.
By Friday 5 September, Grandad was getting the Message.
By Wednesday 10 September, he had changed his orders, and Mom had acted accordingly.
By 9/11, while Grandad drove alone to Pueblo and back Mom and her friends had written and signed the by-laws for Covenant Programs, Incorporated in the State of Colorado.
On the nineteenth of September Grandad took Mom to the office space she had rented, against his advice, in Pueblo. He said nothing as she discovered for herself the consequences of her mistakes. On the way back to La Junta, she called John, and discussed the budget.
MONDAY! Mom allowed Dr. Hess to take her to breakfast at La Junta's Village Inn.
By the end of the month, she was finding time to watch BOOK-TV again.
