Whew! Soooo much work still to do! Grandad picked up Ruth yesterday and took her to Felicia's for a happy hour. The owner greeted them and asked about Ruth's girls. Ruth promised to find and give her some pictures. She hopes to do this before the year is out.
Grandad shared the confirmation of plans that his step-children have been making for Thanksgiving at Garfield Place (his house and Casa Del Sol). He invited Ruth to come home and co-operate, so she did. This freed drCCYmom to make her own plans for Thanksgiving with her own children.
First thing this morning, she drafted the invitation to send via Annette. Later, Grandad knocked on the guestroom door. When he heard Ruth's voice invite him to open it, he stuck his head in and asked Ruth to remind him of what work he had promised to finish today in Mom's new (to her) apartment.
I had just realized that I have inherited my mother's voice. This was validated when I heard her speak to Grandad. By 2:30 PM, HE WAS WAKING FROM HIS NAP. She had cleared the decks for another work week. These are folks who don't take holidays seriously. They are workaholics.
