She asked a favor that I was able to grant -- demonstrating mutual trust. I was on my way to church, a congregation of friends who celebrate the opportunities that the United States provides to join with the whole wide world in service.
I was able to tell my new young friends how my grandfather helped to settle this valley as a US Territorial Marshal. How proud I am of him and my grandmother who was the the only person he trusted at his back with a gun!
