Mr.T

Mom and Grandad are preparing Mr.T, Mom's second Godson, to take over the management of Jackie's Facebook account, CYFFR PETS.  Mr.T is a twenty year old first year college student that Mom met at Village Inn here in La Junta Colorado.  He is, the most recent recipient and current focus of Covenant Programs.  Wednesday morning, shortly after midnight, Mom began to awaken -- feeling called to see if Mr.T was at work.  She tried to dismiss that feeling and go back to sleep, but it kept at her for an hour or two.  She was driven by a flood of memories, stories that friends at Village Inn had been telling her, that made clear Mr.T's need for help.

This young man has been struggling, cut off from family, and traumatized in his efforts to get a college education.  The help he needs and wants is not money but a community willing to work with him on the problem.  He cannot solve this problem alone -- no matter how hard or well he works.  Grandad and Mom invited the student to their home after work.  The minute Mr.T entered the house, he expressed a sense of deja vous.  His words in conversation made clear that he felt like he had entered the house of his own grandparents who live northwest of Chicago.  This region is familiar to to Mom.  It is where she grew up, leaving as a young wife fifty-two years ago.
