Who doesn't have at least one secret wish for Christmas? Mom and Grandad are no exception to this rule. Amazing that both of them received on this day a wish. Grandad's was so secret that even he could not have put it into words, so Mom has done it with a poem. She has been working on it for more than a year. It came, today, in the form of a person whose name is Sandy.
Mom's wish was not so secret. She had spoken up and asked. It came, today, in the form of a text message from her closest sister. It was an updated address for Mom's Christmas card list. Many of Mom's addresses have been lost through years of trauma and of The Great Spirit playing a game of fruit-basket-upset with Mom's life.
3:33 PM The Winter Solstice: Mom and Grandad enjoyed the peace and quiet of this Sunday working together in Grandad's house. They collaborated in the writing of a year end letter to send with Christmas cards and holiday greetings for a happy new year. Mom gladly stayed at home all day while Grandad ran occasional errands and visited with friends.
Christmas Eve: Mom and Grandad intend to bring Ruth home, closing the CEO's apartment until 7 January 2015. Of course, as Elsa has said, "THINGS CHANGE," so anyone in need of Mom's services -- feel free to call and leave a message at her home office 719-384-2464.
9:00 AM 26 December: Mom is writing poetry again!
7:30 AM 28 December: Mom is working so that Dr. Hess and Ruth might continue to enjoy their vacation.
6:30 PM 29 December: Dr. Hess took Ruth to the teacher's credit union dinner party and annual meeting. They were asking for new members. Hearing the need that some schools in the valley have for substitute teachers gave Ruth an idea of how she might help.
5:00 PM 30 December: It has taken a team of personal banking assistants to do it, but Mom has experienced SUCCESS!
9:00 AM 2 January: Here we are at the 9th day of Christmas. Grandad is done, but Mom's still celebrating!
