Dear JaMi,
Your mom has been serving me as my computer guru and VERY PRIVATE secretary now for several years.  This past week I have brought her home to explore with her new friends and business partners what kind of a support system she might have here when I die.  Due to RA, your mom's body has become increasingly painful for her to use, still she gets out of bed before dawn every morning to walk and write in order to maintain the connections (links) that are central to life.

This morning, she has finally mastered using the in-room coffee maker. ... far more complicated than it needs to be!!  Now I'm going to let her tell you this story in her own words.

The person from housekeeping expressed concern.  I had to apologize.  I knew that I had behaved like a "teenager" -- neglecting to thoroughly wash my cup before using it to transfer clean water from the tap to fill the machine. Such carelessness, Dex and I have agreed, is characteristic of most teens in The United States throwing off the shackles of parental discipline.

Listening to my friends and neighbors, however, both here in New Mexico and in Colorado, I have heard a growing consensus -- especially among people of faith.  This vision is being realized by parents who are taking responsibility for the education of their young children rather than depending on public classrooms preschool through the elementary years.
